A few weeks back, Taig produced a working untethered jailbreak for iOS 8.2 betas 1 and 2. Since then Apple has stopped signing both betas, rendering them unusable to anyone who has not already installed them on their devices. Obviously, now that iOS 8.2 has been publicly released, the betas have been sidelined anyway but some people still have them and have been trying to use the Taig jailbreak. Unfortunately, many are being stopped in their tracks by an error message that says “Can’t find Apple Driver, please download and install iTunes”.

Obviously you will already have iTunes on your computer but one version has been causing a lot of problems. That version is the latest 64-bit version for Windows. Some users tried to downgrade their version of iTunes and others have just given up trying to use the jailbreak, getting more and more frustrated with the problem. Don’t throw the towel in yet though because we have a solution for you that seems to have worked for a lot of people.
Fix Taig – Cant Find Apple Driver :
First, you must uninstall the current version of iTunes that you have on your computer:
- Open Control Panel
- Click on Programs
- Find and click on iTunes in the list
- Click on Uninstall
- Wait for iTunes to be removed from your computer
Second, you need to install a different version of iTunes – version 12.1.1 64-bit for the older video cards
- Download iTunes 12.1.1 from here
- Follow the on-screen instructions for downloading it
- Reboot your PC
You can now use Taig to jailbreak iOS 8.2 beta 1 or 2 again. This should also work on any version of the jailbreak that you are trying to install as some users have complained of seeing the error message on earlier versions. We have full instructions here on how to use the Taig jailbreak for ioS 8.2 betas 1 and 2 as well as for iOS 8.1.2:
Let us know if you have faced this error and whether this solution worked for you or not. If you haven’t already upgraded to iOS 8.2 and still running a current jailbreak, stay put. Reports from the recent Mobile Security Summit indicate that a new jailbreak will not be available until iOS 8.3 at the earliest.
